A.M. Lichtenstein Scholarship Fund

The purpose of the fund is to provide an annual scholarship award to a resident of Allegany County, Maryland, who is enrolled in the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, and who is to be selected on the basis of financial need, character, and scholarship. The recipient is to be chosen in advance of the opening of the school year by the Dean, the Superintendent of Schools of Allegany County, and the President of the Allegany County Pharmaceutical Society. The same student may continue to receive the award during his or her entire course of study. The Fund was established November 6, 1958, by bequest to the UMB School of Pharmacy from Francina Freese Lichtenstein in memory of her husband, A. M. Lichtenstein, distinguished alumnus of the School of Pharmacy, Class of 1889.
