F. Mason Sones Memorial Fund

The F. Mason Sones Memorial Fund was established in 1986. The purpose of the fund is to provide loans to medical students at the School of Medicine. Need shall be a primary consideration, and recipients must have demonstrated excellence in scholastic achievement and the potential for medical accomplishment in their undergraduate studies. Existing recipients who continue to satisfy the Fund criteria and who have need for additional assistance from the Fund will have the opportunity for award renewal in succeeding years. The renewal of assistance to qualified existing recipient who have not completed the academic program leading to the MD degree shall take precedence over the consideration of potential recipients for first-time assistance.
