Lucy Wing-Yee Shum Memorial Scholarship Fund

The purpose of the Lucy Wing-Yee Shum Memorial Scholarship Fund is to provide scholarship or fellowship support for students enrolled at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. In remembrance of Lucy Wing-Yee Shum’s devotion to legal services on behalf of children with mental illness, and her support of advances in treatment and education, awards are made to students with a demostrated interest in legal practice that advocates for children with mental health needs. While enrolled at the School of Law, selected students will participate in activities that may include volunteering, internships or participation in one of the School of Law’s clinics, which will give them practical experience working with an organization that advocates for the legal rights of children with mental health needs.
