Fedder Environmental Scholars Endowment
The Fedder Environmental Scholars Fund for the School of Law was established through the generosity of Mr. Joel D. Fedder, Class of 1958 and his wife, Ellen S. Fedder. The purpose of the fund shall be to provide endowed support for scholarships, faculty development, fellowships, conferences, symposia, and/or related activities of the Environmental Law Program at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
In March 2014, the Memorandum of Understanding was amended to include the following:
The Fedder Environmental Scholars Fund will provide endowed support for the Fedder Scholars Program, a program designed to provide an opportunity for law students in the Environmental Law Program at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law to submit, attend and present papers at the annual colloquium of the International Union for Conservation of Nature. As part of the Fedder Scholars Program, students named as “Fedder Scholars” will be recognized at an annual environmental law lecture entitled “The Fedder Lecture,” held in conjunction (when practical) with the Environmental Law Program’s annual wine tasting event or another Environmental Law Program event. In addition, income will support fellows who work in the Environmental Law Clinic.
