Edward H. and Frances W. Price Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Edward H. and Frances W. Price Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2007. The purpose of the fund is to provide endowed support to students in both the University of Maryland School of Nursing and the University of Maryland College Park Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

The award in the School of Nursing will be a scholarship to support BSN students who have demonstrated financial need and academic merit. To the extent possible, preference will be given to Maryland residents. The award in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry will support the research of a Ph.D student in chemistry.

To the extent possible, preference will be given to Maryland residents. The award will be given to a student of the School or the Department in alternating years. The first award will be given to a student in the School. When the market value of the Fund reaches $100,000 the spendable income will be split on a yearly basis between students in the School and the Department who meet the above criteria. If spendable income allotted to the School or the Department is sufficient, as determined by either the Dean of the School or the Chair of the Department, more than one scholarship may be awarded to School or Department students in the same year. Each recipient must meet the criteria above that pertain to the recipient’s course of study.
