Stanley Wenocur Scholarship in Community Organizing

The Stanley Wenocur Scholarship in Community Organizing was established in 2003. The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarships for students enrolled at the University of Maryland School of Social Work who are pursuing a degree in the area of community organizing. Preference is given to those who are doing their field internship through the Social Work Community Outreach Service (SWCOS) in order to encourage students to challenge institutional arrangements of power for those who have been marginalized by those arrangements, develop innovative approaches to organizing, and promote a long-term commitment to the marginalized.
