Richard A. Batterton Scholarship for Social Justice and Public Policy
The Richard A. Batterton Scholarship for Social Justice and Public Policy was established in 2008. The purpose of the fund is to provide endowed scholarship support for students at the University of Maryland School of Social Work, who are interested in pursuing careers or other opportunities in the areas of social justice or public service in either the non-profit sector, city or county agencies, or state agencies. Awards are made at the discretion of the Dean of the School and directed toward students who make a compelling case for social justice or public service activities that would result in systemic change.
