Julianne Oktay Scholarship Endowment

The Julianne Oktay Scholarship Endowment was established in 2017. The purpose of the fund is to provide endowed support for scholarships for master’s degree students or fellowships for doctoral students enrolled at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. The selected students must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need, and have a background, experience or interest in the area of oncology social work. Recipients will be known as the Julianne Oktay Scholars (for students at the master’s degree level) or the Julianne Oktay Fellows (for doctoral students).

Selection of the Julianne Oktay Scholars or Fellows will be made by the Scholarship Committee appointed by the Dean of the School, with approval of the Chair of the Health Care Specialization for scholarship recipients or the Associate Dean of the PhD Program for fellowship recipients. If there are no eligible candidates in a given year, scholarships or fellowships will not be awarded.
